Haiku #150

I miss living in the country.  City life is not my thing.  I don’t mind the occasional visit, and I enjoy admiring a well designed city skyline reaching upwards, but my preference is the country.  Make my skyline the mountains, or even flatten my skyline out as the ocean meets the horizon.  Make my trail one of dirt or sand, with a green backdrop.  I’ll take the sounds of nature waking up over the commute of drones in their mechanized chariots.  Alas, such is not my lot, as I have been placed back in the city due to circumstances out of my control.  But I do try to make the most of it as I slowly plan my escape.

fingers reach the sky,
nature obscured by progress,
concrete trails guide man.
